Obverse description Full-length facing figure of St. Kilian, patron saint of Würzburg, standing in pontifical vestments and mitre, holding a crozier in his right hand and a sword in his left, the date divided to either side of the figure. Three heraldic shields are arranged in the lower field before him. The bishop's legend encircles the design within a beaded border.

Reverse description Crowned double-headed imperial eagle displayed, with wings spread, each head surmounted by a separate crown beneath a central imperial crown.
