| Obverse description | Central ornate shield bearing the new Mansfeld arms, surmounted by two elaborately decorated helmets with mantling. The year date is divided and placed in the outer field, flanking the helmets to the left and right. The peripheral legend, rendered in Latin, names the five ruling co-counts: Peter Ernest I, John Albert, John Hoyer III, Bruno II, and Hoyer Christoph, abbreviated in the customary manner of the period. The overall composition reflects the heraldic engraving style characteristic of late sixteenth-century German territorial coinage. |

| Reverse description | Saint George mounted on horseback, advancing to the right, depicted in the act of slaying the dragon prostrate beneath the horse's hooves. The composition is dynamic, rendered in the vigorous style typical of late Renaissance German thaler coinage. The peripheral legend, identifying the counts' titles and domains, commences with a small imperial orb serving as an initial mark. The inscription references their dignity as counts and lords of Mansfeld and noble lords of Heldrungen. |
