| Obverse description | Half-length effigy of Mihály Apafi I, Prince of Transylvania, facing right, wearing a richly embroidered fur-trimmed robe and a fur-lined hat adorned with a feathered plume and jewelled brooch. The prince holds a sceptre in his right hand, rendered with fine Baroque artistry. A beaded inner circle frames the portrait, with the Latin legend running along the outer periphery of the octagonal flan. |
