| Obverse description | Armored and draped bust of Count Ernest of Montfort facing right, wearing elaborately engraved plate armor with decorative shoulder pieces and a lace cravat, the hair dressed in a long flowing baroque wig with curled locks. The portrait is rendered in high relief in the Baroque manner, occupying the majority of the obverse field. The encircling Latin legend reads ERNESTVS COMES DE MONTFORT, divided around the bust. The engraver's signature I. HAAG. F. appears in the lower exergue beneath the truncation. |
