Upon the breast of the eagle is an escutcheon divided between the arms of St. Anna on the left and the Austrian arms on the right. Two crossed mining hammers appear below the shield, nestled between the eagle's tail feathers, referencing the mining origins of this Ausbeute (yield) thaler. The circumferential legend, commencing at 12 o'clock, reads as an abbreviation for 'Sankta Annae Fundgruben Ausbaute Thaler in Niederösterreich,' followed by the date and the Roman numeral X denoting the value in Kreuzer. |
