| Obverse description | Right-facing draped bust of Empress Maria Theresia, her hair elaborately dressed and adorned with a jewelled ornament, wearing a lace-trimmed decollete bodice with a brooch at the neckline. The effigy is rendered in high relief in a naturalistic Baroque style. The encircling Latin legend reads M THERESIA D G R IMP GE HU BO REG, identifying her as Empress of Rome, Queen of Germany, Hungary, and Bohemia. The legend is separated from the toothed border by a narrow flat rim. |
