| Obverse description | Draped bust of the young Empress Maria Theresia facing right, her elaborately curled hair adorned with a small floral ornament, wearing a low-cut bodice with lace trim and a ribbon bow at the décolletage. The effigy is rendered in high relief in a refined Baroque style. The Latin legend, commencing at approximately 8 o'clock, reads MAR THERESIA D G REG HUNG BOH, identifying her by the grace of God as Queen of Hungary and Bohemia. The entire design is contained within a finely milled border. |
