| Obverse description | Right-facing draped bust of Empress Maria Theresia, veiled and wearing an imperial tiara surmounted by a cross, with a pearl brooch at the décolletage. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the neoclassical style, with fine detail in the lace veil and jeweled ornaments. The obverse legend encircles the bust, identifying the empress by her imperial and royal titles. The initials of the engravers S·F (Schöbl and Faby) appear at the base of the truncation. The field is smooth and unadorned, directing full attention to the portrait. |
