| Reverse description | A crowned imperial double-headed eagle displayed in the centre of the field, its wings spread and each head facing outward, supporting on its breast a large quartered coat of arms bearing the dynastic and territorial arms of the Habsburg dominions. The encircling Latin legend ARCHID·AUST·DUX·BU·COM·TYR· is interrupted at the left by the date 1753 and the mintmark X for Hall, all within a beaded inner border. The eagle is rendered in fine baroque style with detailed feathering and scroll-work at the base of the shield. |

| Additional information |
The Hall Mint in Tyrol had been striking silver thalers since the late fifteenth century, but this issue marks a specific administrative window: Maria Theresia's sole reign following the death of her husband Francis I in 1765, which is why the series terminates that year. The earlier dates in the run appear during her co-regency, when Hall remained one of the most productive mints in Habsburg territory, drawing on Tyrolean silver extraction from the mines at Schwaz — by then well past their peak but still operational.
Collectors working this series should note that Hall thalers of this period are frequently found with adjustment marks from the mint's weight-correction process, visible as file striations on the fields.
