| Obverse description | Draped bust of Empress Maria Theresia facing right, wearing a widow's veil and imperial diadem, rendered in the Baroque portraiture style characteristic of the Habsburg court. The effigy is positioned centrally within the coin field, with fine detail in the lace and drapery of her attire. A continuous Latin legend encircles the bust, identifying her imperial and royal titles. The portrait reflects the mature likeness of the Empress as standardised from 1765 onward following the death of Emperor Francis I. |
