| 裏面の説明 | Full-length crowned figure of the Virgin Mary (Patrona Hungariae) standing facing, nimbed and surrounded by an elaborate radiate glory of long rays. She holds the Christ Child on her left arm, who is also nimbed, and she stands atop the Hungarian arms (a crowned shield bearing the Árpád stripes and apostolic double cross). The mint marks K and B appear to the left and right of the shield in the lower field. The date 1743 is inscribed in the upper field, and the circular Latin legend runs along the periphery within a beaded border. |

Hungary's Maria Theresa thalers of 1743–44 were struck during one of the most precarious moments of her reign — the War of the Austrian Succession was still being fought, and Hungarian noble support, secured through her famous appeal to the Diet at Pressburg in 1741, was critical to her survival as ruler. The Hungarian estates had pledged troops and money; these coins were partly the mechanism through which that financial relationship was expressed.
The KM#333 type spans two dated years, with H#1668 and H#1669 distinguishing the 1743 and 1744 issues respectively. Minor die differences exist between the two dates but neither is dramatically scarcer than the other in circulated grades.
