Obverse description Tripartite coat of arms superimposed on an ornate cross, with four small heraldic shields in the angles of the cross. The surrounding legend bears the titles of Count Ludwig II of Königstein in Latin. The composition is typical of mid-sixteenth-century German territorial coinage, with heraldic elements rendered in a bold, stylized manner consistent with the hammered technique.
