Obverse description Allegorical draped bust of the Republic personified, facing right, wearing a tiara and the Doge's ceremonial ermine robe. The effigy is rendered in a classicizing Baroque style with finely detailed drapery. The encircling legend RESPUBLICA VENETA runs along the periphery and terminates with a decorative arabesque ornament in the field.

Reverse description The nimbate Lion of St. Mark, symbol of Venice, seated to right atop a rectangular pedestal, its forepaws resting upon an open book. The letters A and S appear on the left and right edges of the pedestal respectively, likely denoting mint officials or assayers. The date appears in the exergue, and the legend naming the reigning Doge runs along the upper and lateral periphery of the field.
