| Obverse description | St. Leodegarius (Léger) enthroned in full pontifical vestments, including mitre, raising his right hand in benediction while holding a crozier in his left; a small crowned heraldic shield of the abbey is placed between his feet. The figure is rendered in the robust late-Renaissance style typical of early seventeenth-century German ecclesiastical coinage. The circumferential legend is separated from the central device by a beaded inner circle. The field is flat with the saint depicted frontally in high relief. |
