Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Leopold II facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair bound with a laurel wreath and long curled locks falling over the shoulder. The effigy is engraved in the neoclassical style characteristic of late 18th-century Habsburg coinage. The circumferential legend reads LEOPOLDVS II D G HVNGAR BOHEM GALLIC LODOM REX A, denoting his titles as King of Hungary, Bohemia, Galicia, and Lodomeria. The mintmark A for the Vienna Mint appears below the bust truncation. The field is smooth, with a finely toothed border around the rim.

Reverse description Elaborately quartered and impaled crowned coat of arms of the Habsburg-Lorraine dynasty, supported on either side by a rampant lion and an eagle as heraldic supporters, all rendered in fine detail. The complex shield incorporates the arms of Austria, Hungary, Bohemia, Burgundy, Lorraine, and Tuscany among others, surmounted by an imperial crown. The date 1790 appears to the left of the shield within the legend, and the mintmark X is placed to the right of the date. The surrounding legend reads ARCHIDVX AVST DVX BVRG ET LOTH MAG DVX HETR 1790·X, citing Leopold's titles as Archduke of Austria, Duke of Burgundy and Lorraine, and Grand Duke of Tuscany. A finely toothed border frames the entire composition.
