Obverse description Right-facing draped bust of Archbishop Leopold Anton von Firmian, depicted wearing ecclesiastical robes with a decorative pectoral cross suspended at the chest. The hair falls in long, loosely curled locks to the shoulder in the Baroque manner. A mint mark 'B' appears at the lower edge of the bust truncation. The surrounding legend reads LEOPOLDUS D: G: ARCH: ET PRINCEPS SALISB: S: SED: AP: LEG: GERM: PRIM:, disposed along the inner border of the reeded rim. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine engraved detail characteristic of early eighteenth-century Salzburg minting.

Reverse description The quartered arms of the Archbishopric of Salzburg and the Firmian family displayed on an ornate baroque shield, surmounted by a processional cross and an archbishop's galero with six tassels pendant on each side suspended from elaborate cords. The date 1728 is divided above the galero at the top of the field. The circular legend S: R: I: PRINCEPS EX S: AN: DE FIRMIAN surrounds the composition, with the words SALZBURG S: SED: AP: LEGATGERM: PRIM: completing the inscription along the periphery. The overall design is of high Baroque artistic quality, with deeply struck relief and intricate heraldic detail filling the field.
