背面描述 Elaborate eight-fold quartered coat of arms displayed on a baroque shield, supported by ornate mantling and surmounted by three ornate crested helmets with elaborate lambrequin decoration. The date 1623 is divided among the helmets above the shield, with digits flanking the central helmet. The two-part Latin motto legend TIME. DEUM. - HONO. CÆSA. (Fear God — Honor the Emperor) is distributed in the fields to either side, separated by the armorial composition. A beaded inner circle frames the design.

附加信息

Dannenberg was a minor Guelph territory that passed between ducal branches of the House of Brunswick-Lüneburg with some regularity, and Julius Ernest ruled it as a relatively obscure principality for just over two decades before the line extinguished with his death in 1636. This thaler was struck at the height of the Thirty Years' War, when silver coinage from even the smallest German principalities served a critical transactional role — imperial armies needed pay, and territorial rulers needed to demonstrate fiscal credibility. The Kipper und Wipper crisis of 1619–1623 had flooded the empire with debased small coinage, making a full-weight silver thaler politically as much as economically significant.

The Welter 703b designation distinguishes this as a specific die variety within a small documented group.
