| Obverse description | Central field displays a four-fold quartered coat of arms of Hohenzollern with crossed scepters, the date 15-44 divided at either side. Two elaborately mantled and crested helms rise above the shield, rendered in fine Renaissance heraldic style. The circumferential Latin legend runs continuously around the periphery, separated from the central device by a beaded inner border. |

| Reverse description | A crowned double-headed imperial eagle displayed in the field, with both heads facing outward beneath a single imperial crown above. On the breast of the eagle is affixed an escutcheon bearing the combined arms of Austria and Burgundy. The wings are finely detailed with overlapping feathers in the Renaissance engraving style. The circumferential Latin legend, acknowledging Emperor Charles V as Holy Roman Emperor, encircles the entire design within a beaded border. |
