| Obverse description | Armored bust of Joseph Wenzel, Prince of Fürstenberg, facing right, wearing elaborately engraved plate armor with scalloped pauldrons and a lace cravat visible at the throat. The subject's hair is styled in a voluminous period wig with curled sides. The engraver's initials 'A.RW.' appear on a cartouche at the base of the truncation. A circular Latin legend runs along the toothed rim: IOSEPHUS WENCESLAUS • S • R • I • PR • DE FURSTENBERG • A.RW. The portrait is executed in a refined Baroque style characteristic of mid-18th-century German court engraving. |
