Obverse description Draped bust of Archbishop Joseph Clemens of Bavaria facing right, wearing a voluminous allonge wig with elaborate curls cascading over the shoulders and a clerical collar with pendant cross visible at the truncation. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the Baroque style, with fine detail in the hair and vestments. The circular Latin legend runs along the periphery, interrupted by the portrait, reading IOS. CLEM. ARCH. COL. S. R. I. ARCHICAN. The coin edge bears a decorative milled border.

Reverse description Central design featuring the circular arms of Bavaria (lozengy bendy sinister azure and argent) set within a cruciform arrangement of paired and crowned interlaced C-monograms (CC ciphers), forming four arms of the cross. Ornate double-C cyphers occupy the four angles between the arms of the cross. The date 1715 appears incorporated within the circular Latin legend, which reads ET EL DUX BAV around the periphery, identifying the archbishop as Elector and Duke of Bavaria.
