附加信息

John VI of Anhalt-Zerbst died in 1667 after a reign defined largely by the slow reconstruction of a territory gutted by the Thirty Years' War. Death thalers — Sterbetaler — were a well-established German princely tradition, struck as much for dynastic memory as for circulation, and most survive in comparatively decent condition for exactly that reason. The Anhalt line used them consistently to assert continued legitimacy through each succession.

Zerbst's mint output in this period was modest, and KM#15 is not a common piece by any measure.
