Obverse description Half-length armored effigy of Duke John Philip I facing right, with the date divided at either side of the head. A small imperial orb appears above the figure, while two small heraldic shields are positioned below and one additional shield flanks each side of the bust, all elements dividing the surrounding Latin legend. The overall composition reflects the elaborate Baroque portraiture typical of early 17th-century German territorial coinage.
