Reverse description A crowned double-headed imperial eagle displayed in the field, with wings spread and an orb on the breast bearing a cross, symbolizing the authority of the Holy Roman Empire. The eagle's heads are each surmounted by a crown, with a larger imperial crown arching above the whole composition. The surrounding Latin legend records the titles of Emperor Rudolf II along with the date reference DECRET 80. The bold, richly detailed engraving of the eagle is characteristic of Taler-sized imperial coinage of the late sixteenth century.
