| 正面描述 | Central field displays three heraldic shields arranged two over one, surmounted by the electoral cap (Kurhut) of the Archbishop-Elector of Trier. The composition is enclosed within a double border carrying a continuous Latin legend divided between an outer and an inner concentric band, identifying the titles and dignities of Johann Hugo von Orsbeck. The heraldic elements are rendered in the bold, detailed style typical of late German Baroque ecclesiastical coinage. |

Johann Hugo von Orsbeck served as Archbishop-Elector of Trier for over three decades, outlasting Louis XIV's devastating invasion of the Rhineland in 1688–89, during which French forces systematically destroyed Trier's electoral fortifications. He died in January 1711, and this thaler was struck as a memorial issue — a practice common among the ecclesiastical electorates of the Holy Roman Empire, where death coinages doubled as political statements of dynastic continuity for the incoming chapter.
Trier was among the smallest and most frequently pressured of the three ecclesiastical electorates, and Orsbeck's long tenure was itself a stabilizing anomaly.
