| Obverse description | Central field features the large interlaced cypher monogram of Johann Georg IV rendered in bold relief, formed by the intertwined letters 'I', 'G', and the numeral '4'. The monogram is encircled by a beaded inner ring and surrounded by a circular legend in Gothic script reading the elector's full title and style. The square klippe flan is framed by an ornamental border with decorative scrollwork at each corner, interspersed with small heraldic devices including the Saxon arms. |
