Obverse description Armored equestrian effigy of Elector John George I facing right, mounted on a prancing horse caparisoned with elaborate draped cloth, the elector holding a baton or commander's staff raised aloft in his right hand and wearing a crown; below the horse's hooves appears a crowned interlaced royal cipher. Small floral sprigs are visible in the lower field. The peripheral legend reads DEO ET PATRIAE with the date 1657 divided across the upper field, all within a toothed border.
