正面描述 Armored and draped bust of Elector John George II facing right, wearing a long, elaborately curled wig and a cuirass decorated with intricate engraving; a sword hilt is visible at his left shoulder and he holds or displays a helmet to his right. The circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, reading JOHAN GEORG II D G DVX SAX IVL CLIV ET MON. The portrait style reflects the refined Baroque engraving tradition characteristic of late 17th-century Saxon coinage.

附加信息

John George II of Saxony spent lavishly on court culture — he was among the most enthusiastic patrons of Italian opera north of the Alps, and Dresden's musical establishment under his rule became a model for other German courts. That expenditure, combined with the costs of maintaining Saxon neutrality during the later Thirty Years' War aftermath and the ongoing Turkish threat on the eastern frontier, kept the Dresden mint busy converting bullion into spendable coinage through the late 1670s. The three-year span of this issue reflects continuous production rather than any single authorization.
