Obverse description Armoured equestrian figure of St. George, mounted on a rearing horse and facing right, drives a lance downward into a prostrate winged dragon beneath the horse's hooves. The saint wears a plumed helmet and full plate armour rendered in fine relief. A circular French-language legend surrounds the composition within a beaded border, commemorating the Sovereign of the Most Noble Order of the Garter.
