| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central nine-fold quartered shield of arms displaying the combined coats of the joint ruling princes of Anhalt, supported by elaborate mantling, flanked by wild men or lions as supporters, and surmounted by three ornate crested helmets with elaborate lambrequins. The entire composition is rendered in the late Renaissance Germanic style. The circular legend in Latin runs along the coin's periphery, interrupted by stops. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Anhalt in the late sixteenth century was governed not by a single ruler but by a consortium of brothers holding the principality in joint sovereignty — a dynastic arrangement the Ascanians had practiced for generations, producing coins that required all seven co-regents' names on a single piece. The sheer administrative burden of maintaining joint rule across Anhalt-Dessau, Anhalt-Bernburg, and Anhalt-Zerbst made these thalers as much a political document as a monetary instrument.
The joint reign ended formally with the 1603 partition. Surviving thalers from this seven-prince period are correspondingly narrow in date range.
