Reverse description Central nine-fold quartered coat of arms of the Ernestine line of Saxony, incorporating the arms of Thuringia, Meissen, and associated territories, displayed on an ornate cartouche with Renaissance scrollwork supporters. Three elaborately crested helmets with mantling surmount the shield. The continuation of the ruler's titles in Latin encircles the design: LANDGR * THVRING * ET * MARCH * MISN *, identifying him as Landgrave of Thuringia and Margrave of Meissen, all within a beaded inner border.
