| Reverse description | Armored bust of Duke George of Saxony facing right, depicted wearing an ornate cuirass with elaborately chased detailing, set within a raised inner circle with a beaded border. The peripheral Latin legend GEORG· DVX· SAX FIE· FE ·A· 1534 identifies the subject and records the date of issue. The field to the left of the portrait bears the date elements incorporated into the legend, consistent with standard Albertine-Ernestinian joint-issue thaler design of the period. The bold, high-relief portrait reflects the accomplished die-cutting tradition of the Annaberg mint. |
