Obverse description Armored half-length bust of Elector John Frederick I of Saxony facing right, wearing a sword over his right shoulder and a decorative gorget, with a shield bearing the Saxon lion at the base. Four heraldic shields are positioned in the quarters surrounding the central inner beaded circle: the electoral sword shield at upper center, flanked by additional Saxon arms to the left and right, with a further shield below. The Latin legend encircles the entire design within the outer rim.

Reverse description Armored half-length bust of Duke Henry of Saxony facing left, depicted bearded and wearing plate armor with a ruff collar, his hands visible at the lower center. Four heraldic shields occupy the cardinal positions around the inner beaded circle, including the Hungarian arms and additional Saxon dynastic devices. The date 1542 appears in the outer legend to the left, with the Latin titular inscription continuing around the full circumference of the coin.
