Obverse description Central field displays the elaborately rendered quartered coat of arms of Bishop Johann Eucharius Schenk von Castell, supported on either side by rampant lions acting as heraldic supporters. The shield is surmounted by a mitre flanked by two ornate helmets with foliate crests, the whole achievement executed in high relief in the Baroque style. The mintmaster's initials GFN appear in the lower field beneath the escutcheon. The circular Latin legend reads D.G. JOAN. EUCHARIUS EPISCOPUS EYSTETTENSIS S.ROM.IMP.PRINCEPS, separated by a beaded inner border from the reeded rim.
