| Obverse description | Within a beaded inner circle, an oval baroque cartouche bearing a quartered heraldic shield is displayed at centre, supported by two crossed croziers in saltire beneath. A mitre surmounts the shield, flanking the divided date. The entire device is rendered in the elaborate baroque ecclesiastical style typical of early seventeenth-century German abbey coinage. The circumferential Latin legend runs along the outer border. |
