Obverse description Armored bust of Duke John Albert II facing right, wearing a ruffled collar and elaborately decorated cuirass, occupying the central field. The portrait is rendered in high relief in the German Baroque manner. A beaded inner border frames the design. The circular legend surrounds the effigy, reading in Latin and identifying the ruler by name and title.

Reverse description Ornate heraldic composition displaying three crowned coats of arms arranged side by side, surmounted by elaborate crests including a buffalo head, a Mecklenburg eagle, and foliate mantling, all executed in the decorative style typical of early seventeenth-century German thalers. The central shield bears the Mecklenburg bull's head. Acanthus leaf and foliate scrollwork fill the surrounding field. The date appears within the legend.
