正面描述 Right-facing draped bust of Johann I, Prince of Schwarzenberg, with powdered wig tied at the nape with a ribbon and bow, the truncation bearing the engraver's initials V·F. The portrait is rendered in high relief in the late Baroque style. A circular Latin legend runs along the outer periphery, contained within a finely toothed border of beads or denticles.

附加信息

Johann I of Schwarzenberg held the rank of Fürst within the Holy Roman Empire, and coins struck under his authority carried the full weight of that imperial privilege — the right to mint, known as Münzregal, was among the most jealously guarded prerogatives of the higher nobility. By 1783, such rights were increasingly ceremonial; Habsburg monetary centralization had been tightening for decades, and independent princely issues like this one were already becoming administrative anachronisms. The Principality's mint output was never large, and surviving thalers from this period turn up almost exclusively in German regional collections.
