| 背面描述 | Elaborately engraved quartered coat of arms of the Bishopric of Würzburg surmounted by a princely electoral hat, the shield divided into four quarters displaying the rake of Franconia and the episcopal cross-staff of Würzburg in alternating fields. The achievement is flanked by exuberant Baroque mantling and supported by two rampant lions as supporters, with additional heraldic crests above. A circular Latin legend surrounds the composition, proclaiming the issuer's full territorial and ecclesiastical titles, all within a reeded border. |

Johann Philipp von Greiffenclau zu Vollraths was elected Prince-Bishop of Würzburg in 1699 and died in 1719, but this thaler's date range of 1700–1701 places it among his earliest issues — the first thalers struck under his authority as the diocese was still absorbing the financial strain left by his predecessor's administration. Würzburg's mint output during this transition was inconsistent, and surviving dated examples from these two years show variation in die workmanship that reflects the practical difficulties of establishing a new bishop's coinage on short notice.
