正面描述 Armored half-length effigy of Margrave Joachim Ernest facing forward, holding a commander's baton in his right hand; the coat of arms of Brandenburg-Ansbach displayed below the figure, flanking the date divided across the field. The portrait is rendered in the Baroque style typical of early seventeenth-century German coinage, with elaborate armor detailing visible on the cuirass and pauldrons.

附加信息

Joachim Ernest ruled Brandenburg-Ansbach from 1603 until his death in 1625, navigating the fractious confessional politics of the Holy Roman Empire during the years immediately preceding the Thirty Years' War. His thalers of this period were struck at the Schwabach mint, which served the margraviate as its primary silver coining facility throughout the early seventeenth century.

Davenport's attribution ST#6226 places this squarely within the broader Brandenburg thaler sequence, though Ansbach issues are frequently conflated with those of the sister margraviate of Brandenburg-Kulmbach, with which it shared administrative and dynastic ties under the Hohenzollern line.
