In his right hand he holds a key, the traditional attribute of his apostolic office. His left hand bears an ornately shaped elongated shield displaying the Eltz family arms superimposed upon the Cross of Trier. The composition is rendered in the mannered late Renaissance style characteristic of Rhenish ecclesiastical coinage of the period. |
