Obverse description Full-length facing effigy of St. Peter, patron saint of Trier, turned slightly to the right, vested in pontifical robes. In his right hand he holds a key, the traditional attribute of his apostolic office. His left hand bears an ornately shaped elongated shield displaying the Eltz family arms superimposed upon the Cross of Trier.
