Beschrijving voorzijde Central field occupied by a symmetrical arrangement of nine heraldic shields, disposed in a cruciform cluster pattern filling the entire coin face. The shields bear the various dynastic arms of the Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel territories, including lions, eagles, and geometric devices rendered in relief. A beaded inner border frames the design, with the circumferential legend running between the inner and outer rims in Roman capitals. The inscription reads HENRICUS JULIUS D G PE HA D B E T L 99 P P C, recording the full abbreviated titulature of Duke Henry Julius dated 1599. The engraving style is characteristic of late sixteenth-century German hammered coinage, with bold, deeply-struck relief on the armorial devices.

Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse displays a large eagle with wings spread standing atop a rampant lion, both figures rendered in high relief within a plain circular field. The eagle, depicted with detailed feathering and a prominent beak, faces left with wings elevated and outstretched. Beneath the eagle, the lion rears upright on its hind legs amid a dense background of flowering or leafy branches that fill the field. The entire design is enclosed within a rope or cable border running along the inner edge of the rim. No peripheral legend appears on the reverse, the composition being entirely occupied by the bold allegorical device combining the imperial eagle with the Brunswick lion.
