| Obverse description | Full-length figure of the Virgin Mary, crowned and draped, standing facing and holding the Christ Child before her, positioned above the archiepiscopal coat of arms. The entire composition is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, around which runs the opening verse of the Marian antiphon 'Sub tuum praesidium confugimus.' The legend incorporates the abbreviated name and titles of Archbishop Guidobald von Thun. The style reflects the Austrian Baroque ecclesiastical numismatic tradition of the mid-seventeenth century. |
