Reverse description Large, elaborate quartered heraldic shield displaying the combined arms of Brandenburg-Prussia and the numerous associated territories, surmounted by an electoral bonnet and flanked by decorative supporters. The mint-master's initials L and M appear within the field on either side of the shield. The date 1638 is incorporated into the surrounding Latin legend, which reads: *PRVS·IVL·CLE·BERGE·MO·POMA·&·ᗡVX·1·6·3·8· L M, enumerating the ruler's additional dominions including Prussia, Jülich, Cleves, Berg, Minden, and Pomerania. A beaded inner border separates the legend from the central armorial design.
