The shield is supported on either side by rampant lions amid rich baroque acanthus scrollwork. The encircling Latin legend reads DUCES·SILESIAE:LIGN ET. BREGENES with the date 1651, and the mintmaster's initials VT appear in the lower field. The whole design is enclosed within a reeded outer border consistent with the milled coinage practice of the Brieg mint. |
