Reverse description The elaborately quartered royal arms of Great Britain, comprising the arms of England, Scotland, Ireland, and France, displayed on a large shield surmounted by the imperial crown. The shield is supported on the dexter by a crowned lion rampant and on the sinister by a unicorn, both rendered in fine detail. A flowing ribbon beneath the shield bears the motto DIEU ET MON DROIT. The surrounding circular legend reads BRUNS & LUN DUX S R I A TH & EL, with the date divided across the top of the design and the mintmaster's initials I·W·S· in the lower field.
