Reverse description A naturalistic mining landscape scene occupies the central field, featuring a white swan (Weisser Schwan) swimming on a lake in the foreground, with wooded hills, mine workings, and structures visible in the middle ground, and billowing clouds depicted above. The scene commemorates the opening of the Weisser Schwan mine to profitable production. A Latin circular legend runs around the upper periphery, while a three-line German inscription in the lower exergue records the mine name, the commencement of production, the quarter of St. Lucy 1732, and the initials I.B.H. The composition is typical of the Ausbeute (mining dividend) thaler tradition of the Harz region.
