Reverse description Central device depicts the prancing white horse of Hanover to the right, shown in full relief with flowing mane and tail, standing above a ground line scattered with rocks and a small plant, the traditional heraldic emblem of the House of Hanover. The motto NEC ASPERA TERRENT (Difficulties do not deter) arcs around the upper field, while the Roman numeral date MDCCXXXVI (1736) appears in the exergue, with the mintmaster's initials I.A.B. below. The reverse exhibits fine milled engraving consistent with the Hannover Mint's output of this period.
