Reverse description The traditional heraldic wild man (Wilder Mann) of Brunswick stands facing, depicted as a hirsute, bearded figure wreathed in foliage at the head and loins, grasping an uprooted tree trunk in his left hand and resting his right hand on his hip. He stands upon a ground strewn with stylized fir trees. The engraver's initials R·B appear to the right of the figure in the field.
