Reverse description Square klippe flan with a central circular design enclosed by a rope-style border. At center, the full-length figures of the two patron saints of Salzburg, Saint Rupert on the left and Saint Virgil on the right, both vested in episcopal robes and mitres. Saint Rupert holds a saltcellar and a crosier, while Saint Virgil holds a model of Salzburg Cathedral and a crosier; between them, a fortified tower or city gate is depicted in the lower field. The surrounding Latin legend reads S RVDBERTRVS ET S VIRGILIVS EPI SALZБVRG, identifying the two bishop-saints.
