Struck to commemorate the Brandenburg-Prussian victory in the Battle of Fehrbellin in June 1675, where Frederick William — the Great Elector — routed a Swedish army that had invaded his territories while he was campaigning elsewhere. The speed of his march north, roughly 150 miles in under two weeks with artillery, became the more celebrated military feat.
